Paffett Puts in Strong Performance in DTM Finale

Posted 20th October 2014

LONDON - 20th October - Gary Paffett put in a strong performance in the DTM Finale at Hockenheim for his Euronics Mercedes AMG team on Sunday.
Paffett started the race in 16th after a disappointing qualifying session, although Gary did think the car felt good going into the race and was hopeful of a positive performance.
Gary made a great start but was knocked off the track several times over the first lap, causing him to lose a few places.  However Paffett did come fighting back, working his way up through the field.
With Gary pitting a lap after his rivals, he did lose a couple of places. But Gary continued his determined drive getting into battles with many different drivers and seemed to finish just outside the points. However due to a 30 second penalty awarded to Robert Wickens after the race, Paffett moved up one place to 10thtaking a point away from the final race of the year.
After the race Paffett said, “I made a great start and gained a few positions. Then I got hit off the track three times on the first lap which put me at the back of the field. I was having a good battle through the race but I lost two places at the pit stop because we pitted one lap later than the other guys. Apart from the first lap, the racing was okay today.”
Paffett will be hoping this bright performance to end the season will give him and his Euronics Mercedes AMG team a boost going into the off-season, as they will reunite next year.
