NEW YORK FINALE DAWNS FOR PAFFETT

Gary Paffett will head to New York this weekend to compete in the 2018/19 ABB FIA Formula E finale in an event which will see two races in the Big Apple.

After 11 rounds of racing across all four corners of the globe, Gary and his HWA RACELAB team will travel to the biggest city in America for the double-header showdown which will bring the curtain down on season five of all-electric racing.

The circuit for the final races will wind around the streets of Brooklyn as the 2.37km formation features a mixture of long straights and no-margin-for-error corners. To provide a further challenge, the racetrack will be a mixture of concrete and other materials to make a bumpy surface for the drivers.

For the final event of the season, New York will also present another challenge to the team and drivers with not one but two races.

With the infamous Manhattan skyline providing a spectacular backdrop, Gary will be aiming to end the season on a high with a points-scoring result.

"I am really looking forward to the race in New York, in one of the most breath-taking cities in the world,” Gary Paffett said ahead of the weekend. “It is a shame that the season is coming to an end already.

“These are the final races for us as HWA RACELAB, so it is sure to be emotional. We want to end on a high and finish in the points again. Having two races on one weekend mean our chances of achieving that are all the greater."

The New York City E-Prix will get underway on Saturday 13th July with two free practice sessions. Qualifying will follow at 16:45 (BST) before race one gets the green light at 21:00. On Sunday, the final race of the season will take place at 21:00. Qualifying for this race will be at 16:45 that afternoon.
