GARY PAFFETT

As the 2005 and 2018 DTM Champion, Gary Paffett is a household name across the motorsport world having racked up over 185 starts, 23 wins, 48 podiums, 17 pole positions and 14 fastest laps over the past fifteen years.

Gary, a factory Mercedes-AMG driver since 2003, represented the DTM team as their ‘Team Captain’ for several years - showcasing his importance to the Mercedes team. In his and Mercedes’ final season in the DTM, Gary led Mercedes-AMG to the manufacturers’ title, the teams’ title and the drivers’ title to draw the curtains on a sublime career in the German touring car series.

It was announced for the 2019 season that Gary would race in the ABB FIA Formula E, where he helped spearhead the team for HWA RACELAB in their maiden campaign in the electric street racing series.

Ahead of the start of Season 6 of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship, Gary was named as Sporting and Technical Advisor for the Mercedes-Benz EQ Formula E team. Gary combined this management role with his position as the team's Reserve and Development Driver and helped spur the team to the 2021 Drivers and Teams' Championships.

2022 saw Gary become the Team Manager for Season 8 of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship and this was followed with yet another clean sweep of the Drivers and Team's Championships as the Mercedes-Benz EQ Formula E Team bowed out of the championship on a high.

For 2023, Gary reprises his role of Team Manager for the newly formed NEOM McLaren Formula E Team which once again sees him overlooking sporting and technical aspects for the team in its debut season in Formula E.

Alongside this role, Gary plays an integral part in the NEOM McLaren Extreme E Team as Sporting Director, with the team looking to continue its success in the championship.
